Feeling Wobbly?

This is for WT629 - That's What the Doctor Ordered over at splitcoaststampers.  I printed Izzy out twice, using one to cut and color just her head to be added on an action wobbler. Colored the rest with Copics, printed the sentiments in knucklehead font and cut them out for placement. Added the dots and a line around to frame.

Yupo Alcohol Drip Painting

Stamps:  Awesomely Artistic, Lift Me Up
Thick White, Yupo
Ranger Alcohol Inks, Hampton Art Black Marker

Background is my first attempt at alcohol drip painting onto Yupo paper. Once it was dry, I used a Hampton Art Marker to draw over the dripped inks. It is a little dark for a CAS card, but I couldn't pass up using it with the dragonfly.

Thanks for taking a look.

I Only Have Eyes For You Action Wobbler Card

I love this image from Bugaboo Stamps. Using watercolor paper and two images I colored both with the Zig Clean Color Markers, cut the head off of one (OUCH!) and used an Action Wobbler to pop it up onto the image on the card base. So darned cute when you flick that ear. The bones were stamped and die cut from the SU Howl-o-ween Treat set, I hand wrote the words, then added some color, which I should have done first. I stacked the bones up to fit on the card. Added some dots and lines with a Project Life pen and done.  I made this on National Puppy Day and submitted it to the Ways To Use It (WT628) Puppy Love Challenge over at splitcoaststampers.  Head on over there and take a look at all the other cute puppy cards.

Hello Friend

This card is for three Challenges; CAS421 Bunny Hop, WT627 Your Own Handwriting, and TLC630 Baby Wipe Watercolor over at Splitcoaststampers.com

I cut a piece of watercolor paper to 5x7 and folded it in half. Using a baby wipe to add some yellow for the sun, then blue for the sky and green for the ground. I let it dry then stamped my image from Stampin' Up's retired, Serene Spring, stamp set in Staz-On black ink and colored with watercolor pencils. I finished with the sentiment and handwritten "hello friend".

Using a baby wipe to rub watercolor over the card stock was an interesting experience, and I have to admit that I tried it out on a few pieces of different card stock before I proceeded to make this card.

Thanks for taking a peek and I encourage you to join splitcoaststampers and play along with their daily challenges to learn new and interesting techniques and designs.

Smile

Using Canson 140 lb. watercolor paper, cut a mask from shelf liner for my octopus image, spritzed with water, then tapped on Ken Oliver Color Burst in blue, green, and yellow, and scrunched cling wrap over the top. Let it dry in the sun, removed the mask, and colored with Derwent Inktense pencils and a watercolor brush. I added the bubbles in black then went over the circles with white Gelly Roll pen. Added gold Wink of Stella to the eyes, grass and bubbles. I drew in the sea grass and stamped with Smile! from Janie's Girls.

Special Reason Birthday

I made this for my granddaughter who has a birthday coming up next week. I followed the Stephanie Purvis Tutorial over at SCS to make this Mani Pedi Gift Box. I was inspired to make the baby wipe technique designer paper by SU Artisan designer Barbara Meyer and to cover the box by SCS artist, Dina Kowall

Manicure/Pedicure Gift Box

The box is filled with two nail polish, a tin of polish remover pads, and a tin of cuticle cream.

The tag inside the box is stamped with the SU Love Sparkles stamp set and cut out with SU dies.

Ribbit-Ribbit

For the background, I started with brushing Yupo paper with alcohol, then tapping out some Color Burst powdered pigment inks in Pthalo Green and Lemon Yellow, applied some cling wrap and scrunched it up, placing in the sun to dry.

I stamped the frog and sentiment onto watercolor paper and painted him with Cucumber Crush ink and a watercolor brush, added the grass, then the fireflies, coloring them So Saffron and then adding Gold Wink of Stella. I also colored the frogs eyes yellow and added the Wink of Stella. To get the Peekaboo Peach, I water colored the sky and around the frog.

Fresh Laundry

This is for the IC587 Inspiration Challenge, over at splitcoaststampers.com I selected this image as my inspiration:

I have wanted to use this stamp for a very long time, as it is a retired set from 1997 and has always reminded me of my great-grandmother. I have photos of her hanging out the laundry, with use little girls running around the yard weaving in and out of her clean sweet smelling aprons softly flowing in the breeze.
