Sweet Baby Elephant Birthday

This is for Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple challenge 443 (CAS443) Sweet Birthday Wishes

Stamped and then masked the little elephant from Inkadinkado Welcome Baby set, then stamped the balloon from Stampin' Up Honecomb Happiness and the little cake from Janie's Girls Frames. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Party Pants.

Painted with a watercolor brush and SU ink pads in Powder Pink, So Saffron, Real Red and Chocolate Chip. Made the plaid design on the patches of the elephant and lined with a gold pen. I used a silver pen for the elephant's tag.

Thanks for looking....so sorry about shaky watercolor look as I'm having serious eye problems right now, but glad I joined in today to make this cute, sweet little card.

Amazing You Fuchsia

We have the most beautiful fuchsia in our garden, just off the patio of our bedroom. My dh has built a trellis out big round bamboo to hold it up over the years, and it has grown into a lovely tree. It's blooms are gorgeous and the hummingbirds are in heaven.

For this very simple card, I stamped the Magenta fuchsia onto watercolor paper and painted it with a watercolor brush and ink from Fresh Fig and Wild Wasabi with a touch of Flirty Flamingo. Added yellow sequins.

I watercolored and fussy cut the house, tree and snowman and glued them down to a circle cut from the same background dsp. Made the shaker elements and attached them over the scene, added glitter and sequins and sealed it with acetate and a die cut out frame.

Added the strip of dsp and lace then the shaker element which sits on top of the DSP.

Die cut snowflakes from SU Colorful Seasons, holly leaves and sprigs from Tim Holtz dies, added some bells, ribbon, floral stamens, and pearls.

This is really pretty when you shake it up and watch the snow fall.

Friendly Fan

Colored a piece of thick vellum with real red re-inker and a sponge, set aside to dry. When dry stamped the little flowers from Colorful Seasons onto the vellum in Fresh Fig and Crushed Curry, scored the vellum and created the fan fold. Pierced the base of the fan with a large upholstery needle and threaded the gold thread with a dental flosser, folded a gold jewel element over the base of the fan and tied the string to hold it in place. Added another gold element and used gold crimps to keep everything on the string.

Stamped the bamboo onto watercolor paper after stamping off twice to give it a lighter watercolor look.

Punched out a ticket shape from the SU ticket punch and hand printed the characters for "Friend", backed with gold foil. Added a strip of gold foil to the back of a piece of the Fresh Fig card stock between the card stock and watercolor paper.

I die cut two nesting hearts to make my shaker frame, and another piece of the dsp with the word love all over it, a piece of acetate, and a piece of Darice Foamies peel and stick foam and added some Sprinkles embellishments.

I hope you like it.

Sea My Horse

One of my favorite watercolor techniques is to wet the paper add lots of color then sprinkle it with course salt, I love the effect that it creates making a perfect background for this little hippocampus.

I cut out a stencil on the Cricut for the seahorse and used three Tim Holtz stencils for the other textured elements.

Sorry about my photography, I hope you can see the teeny tiny diamonds and pearls that give this image a lovely sparkle. I should have taken the photo before I put it in the frame. I don't think that this will hang around long once my granddaughter sees it.

Paper: Watercolor
Paper Size: A7
Accessories: Texture Paste, Stencils, Tiny Pearls & Diamonds, Glitter Enamel Dot, Course Salt

Techniques: Watercolor Background

Wedding Box and Card

I designed a wedding card to go with a gift box that I also made with the same design and papers.

To make the background design, stamp a flourish stamp all over the card stock in VersaMark and heat set in gold embossing powder. Then add you embellishments.

For this card I applied ModPodge to piece of bleached burlap and let it dry and stiffen, then I die cut the flowers and leaves which were also cut from parchment paper. Added a button with gold thread and some flower stamens.

Stamps: Flourish (unknown)
Paper: Thick Cream, Pink Pirouette
Paper Size: A2
Ink: VersaMark
Accessories: Gold embossing powder, floral stamens, dies, burlap and parchment paper.

Made the base and lid out of kraft paper. Used pink pirouette card stock and stamped with a flourish design in VersaMark and heat set gold embossing powder.

Embellished the box with toile, burlap and parchment paper flowers and leaves, pearls, sequins, pre-made flowers, oh and lots and lots of hot glue strings, lol.

I also made a matching card for this gift box.

I followed a Debby Hughes video tutorial on how to watercolor plaid.  I instantly feel in love with her watercoloring plaid technique. She made it look so easy and it is. Gentle Thoughts

This Stampin' Up Garden Collage stamp set is one of the first "used" stamp sets that I purchased from my wonderful  friend, Les.  Les made the most beautiful cards, and the smallest little lapel pens made of leather, she made one for me depicting my little dachshund and I proudly wear it on my crafting apron. Les is gone now, but I think of her everyday that I am crafting, and am so thankful that we met. She sparked the joy of stamping in everyone and this card is made in her memory.

Ok, maybe not, unless this squiggly fellow is named Time. The background for the tag and octopus was a scrap from another project where I used the scrunched cling wrap watercolor technique. Rainy Days and Mondays

It took me several tries of letting various re-inker colors run down the watercolor paper before I had one that I liked. I went with a simple light two tone that reminded me of drizzly rain on a window pane, thus the window card was born.

I added raindrops and the tiny little flowers to the watercolor piece and framed it with the window die and added a piece of clear acetate. A little crushed curry bow added a little color to match the flowers.
