Card Box with Acetate Lid

Inspired by Stampin’ Up Paper Pumpkin Kit for August 2017 “Giftable Greetings”

Measurements:
Box Base 9 1/2” x 10 7/8”
Acetate Lid 6 9/16” x 8”
Score box on 9 1/2” side at 1/2”, 1 1/2”, 2 1/2”, 7”, 8” and 9”
Score box on 10 7/8” side at 1 1/2”, 2 1/2”, 8 1/4”, 9 1/4”, 10 1/4”
Score Acetate Lid at 1” on all four sides

 Tips for Box:

When cutting all four long tabs (see blue arrows in photos) cut on the score line then cut another 1/8”  and remove.  These tabs fold to the long sides to hold the box edges closed.

1/2” edge folds fold to toward outside of the box (black arrows), all other folds go inward

Fold short sides in first leaving the long tabs to fold into the long sides of the box (blue arrows)

Tips for Acetate Lid:

Fold and burnish from center of fold out to each edge then snip up to the fold on the short side to form tab.  Cut tabs to 1/2” and secure with Tombow Mono Vellum Adhesive.  See Note.

Fold lid over the box to secure the acetate tabs to the OUTSIDE of the short sides of the lid, this keeps the tabs from catching on the box when you put the lid on.

NOTE:  I tried Fine Tip Glue Pen, Glossy Accents, and Diamond Glaze and none of them held and all made a mess of the acetate.

Hello Friend

Thought that this old retired SU flamingo paper from Birds of a Feather would be a great background for a flamingo card. Die cut the dsp with a stitched edge die and offset it on the white base, trimming off the edge. Layered my elements and added a few silver sequins.

Feeling Blue - Smile

This is for Jeannie's Challenge No. 100 True Blue, over at her blog:

https://dragonflyjourneys.blogspot.com/

My card base is heavy weight white A2 scored at 5 1/2"

Heat set using Versamark and white embossing powder, randomly placed vine flower stamp from Stampin' Up stamp set Thoughts & Prayers, small flowers from Bloomin' Love,  and two flowers from Secret Garden.  Fussy cut the flowers.  I used Faber-Castell Polychromo colored pencils to shade the flowers.  Sentiment is from Love & Affection.

Thanks for looking, now go check out all the other lovely entries.
