Art Anthology Under The Sea Treasure Box

This year at the Scrapbook Expo in Santa Clara, California, Stayce DeWitt, Owner/Director of Education at Art Anthology gave this Under Sea Treasure Box class   Stayce is an independent business owner working out of her home and her paints are fabulous.  This class was way outside my comfort zone of neat and clean crafting, but it turned out wonderful and it only took 5 days to get all of the ink out of my cuticles. (I took gloves, why didn't I use them!!!)  It was so much fun playing with the paints and stencils and other materials.

I used the Tim Holtz die cut of the Seahorse given in class, using molding paste to add some depth then painting with orange paint.

I did not have time to complete my tags during class, so I brought them home and finished them with what I have on hand.
The seagulls, starfish and sand dollar were cut out on the Cricut using the "Life Is A Beach" cartridge.  The small seashells on the tag were from my stash, gathered on our local, Shell Beach.

Thank you Stayce for showing me that we can play with paints and the results are awesome.

http://snippetsbyandrea.blogspot.com/2012/10/masculine-birthday-cards.html

I love this stamp set "In The Wild" (retired) and needed a masculine birthday card for last month's card club, so I searched online and found Andrea's great design.

Papers:  Stampin' Up, Basic Black, Old Olive and Naturals (retired)
Inks:  Staz-On, Old Olive, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie
Stamp Sets:  In The Wild (animals, retired); Button Bear Accessories (balloons, retired); Something To Celebrate (gift box, retired); Morning Meadow (Happy Birthday, also retired); From the Herd (party hat).
Inside of the card I stamped "Party Animal" using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp (retired).

I know, I used so many of our retired stamp sets for this card, but I can't bare to part with all of my favorites.

I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the hats and present and hand drew the balloon lines.

Thanks Andrea!

Silk Paper Stamping

This is a project for the Starlight Stampers Club meeting tomorrow.  Our "homework" was to make something with a piece of "Silk Paper" from China.  This paper is like tissue paper but is of a heavier weight and an off white-natural color.  I chose to stamp on the paper by first, carefully, gluing it to SU Very Vanilla Card Stock and used a brayer to mesh the two papers together.

Stampin' Up small Watercolor Wonder Butterfly was stamped onto Silk Paper with Melon Mambo and Rich Razzleberry inks, then die cut.  Box was cut from Melon Mambo card stock with SU Baker's Box Thinlits die.

Taking a cue from fellow Stampin' Up Demonstrator, Patty Bennet, I die cut my own butterfly stamp from "fun foam" with the small Butterfly Thinlits die and stamped on the Silk Paper.  The large butterfly was also stamped onto the card stock mounted Silk Paper and die cut.  Stickles added to the body and wings.

I am not much of a pastels person, so I duplicated the card in darker colors and die cut the top of the butterfly separate from the base and glued the bodies together.  Just a little too busy for me, so in this case I do like the pastel card better.  "Spread the love" is from SU Sprinkles of Life stamp set.

This this last card I stamped and die cut leaves to look like trees and sponged a background onto Whisper White card stock.  Butterfly was stamped and then punched out.  Hello is from "All Shook Up" Paper Pumpkin Kit.

Stampin' Up Gifts of the Orient

This is an 8 x 8 page for my scrapbook Cookbook featuring my most favorite recipes.  Actually, this is my husband's favorite soup, probably because it has a kick from the curry and flavor of peanut butter.

The stamp set is Stampin' Up "Gifts of the Orient" (retired), I thought they were perfect for this recipe page.  Colors are SU Real Red and Crushed Curry.  Stamps were colored with Copics and trimmed with a Gold pen, the fish kite was covered with glitter.

I am entering this in the Dragonfly Journeys Challenge No. 13 - Kiss the Cook

Thanks for looking.
