Orchid Bowl

Started by stamping the orchid flowers in VersaMark and Rich Razzleberry inks and head set with clear embossing powder. Watercolored the blooms with Sweet Sugarplum and Lemon Lime Twist. Die cut the blooms and added dimensionals.

Stamped the background in black.

Die cut two branches from Colorful Seasons and laid out my design. Hand drew and fussy cut out two leaves and 19 wood chips. Cut out a circle of black, and fussy cut into a bowl shape. Ran tape along the back of the bowl and added wood chips. Added the stems and leaves, then the layered flowers.

Stamped the sentiment and mounted on black card stock then the white card base.

Make A Splash!

Printed the little seal onto Neenah Solar White and colored with Copics. Made his eyes using a small egg die, and white Gelly Roll pen, eyelashes Copic multi-liner 0.3, covered with Krystal Klear Dimensional Lacquer.

Used my kraft knif eto cut slits in the wavy dsp for the bouy and beach ball.

Stamped the background design from Hello Friend Stamp set in Versamark and heat set in White embossing powder. Stamped the Daisy twice using Versamark and Pool Party and heat set with clear embossing powder. Watercolored daisy with various ink colors. Stamped the leaves in Versamark and Pistachio inks and heat set with clear embossing powder and fussy cut.

Sweet Pea

Stamped the small flower stamp all over the watercolor paper for a background, painted with watercolors. Stamped the Sweet Peas and painted with watercolors when dry cut them out with stitched oval die.

Stamped sentiment onto watercolor paper and die cut with small oval die, stamped the sweet pea and watercolored, adhered with dimensionals.

It's Summer, Pucker Up and Enjoy

For this card I used a Stampin' Up base of Crushed Curry and the beautiful designer paper is from Close To My Heart called Taste of Summer.  The stamp set is retired SU Simply Summer colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers.

Little Pinky Get Well

My little friend is not doing so good, he has a terrible intestinal infection and has been very ill, so I made his best friend a get well card to help cheer them both up.  Little "Pinky" is on the mend and slowly getting better each day.  Feel Better Soon, Pinky.

For this card I used the following:

Thick white card stock base.  Light brown and Dapper Denim background pieces.  A strip of SU Moroccan dsp.  I handmade a tag to stamp the paw prints.  Little Pinky is a digital image.  He is sitting on the swing from SU Sitting Here stamp set.  The leaves are from SU Rose Wonder and Special Reason.   Sentiment is from SU Express Yourself.

Dream Big Magical Mermaid

You may have to zoom in to see all of the magical treasures in this underwater scene.  I've been waiting to open this Stampin' Up Magical Mermaid stamp set, as I wanted to spend a little uninterrupted time on the dreamy background.

This is really very simple to do.  Beginning with a piece of YUPO paper, I spread some blending solution along the left side and let it glide down to the right, working quickly before it dried, I added drops of Ranger Alcohol Ink in Sunshine Yellow, Pool, Lettuce and Purple Twilight, added some blender solution to a #12 round brush and drew the ink across the paper in a wavy fashion then spritzed the entire card with alcohol.

Once the background was dry, I stamped the sandy bottom of the card with Ranger Vintage Photo, and stamped the seagrass in Distress Peeled Paint.  Blender medium on a #0 round brush was used to enhance the seagrass.

The mermaid was stamped in Momento black ink onto a piece of Neenah Solar White smooth card stock and colored with Copic markers, a very light spread of Nuvo Golden Sunset Glitter Drops was spread over the mermaid's hair and tail.

A 2 1/2" piece of Copper Trim was pulled apart and stretched to create a mesh net and attached on the left.  The mermaid was fussy cut and popped up on Mini Stampin' dimensionals.

I used the Mini Misti to stamp the sentiment from CTMH Your Own Kind of Wonderful stamp set in Momento black.

Card base is thick white A2, with the main image framed with basic black.

Friends Forever

This card is a CASEd design from Amanda Mertz (Did You Stamp Today?)  I so loved the background designer paper that she created using a circle mask and three ink colors along with the Delightful Daisy stamp set.  

Using three size punches to punch out circles from a piece of copy paper it was used as a mask to color through the circles with Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Peekaboo Peach ink colors and a sponge. The large daisy stamp was inked up in Archival Black and stamped all over the paper.

Strips of black paper were used to frame the top and bottom of the sponged design.  Black gross grain ribbon was tied around the card front before it was adhered to a thick white card stock base.

A sentiment from CTMH Fabulous You stamp set was stamped onto Whisper White and cut out with a circle die, then framed with a little larger circle cut from Bermuda Bay.  The little three daisy stamp from the Delightful Daisy stamp set was stamped onto the sentiment circle with Peekaboo Peach.

Dragonfly Dreams Canvas Wall Hanging

There is a bit of Coastal Cabana color throughout my craft room, in the curtains, my desk chair, Ikea rolling cart, etc., and thought that it would be nice to have an image for the wall as well.   I started with an inexpensive 6x6" wood stretched canvas and one of the  SU Pattern Party Decorative Masks, mixed one drop of  Coastal Cabana re-inker into a small amount of SU Embossing Paste and frosted over the mask.  When the paste had dried I watercolored over the area with some more Coastal Cabana.  A Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper die cut Dragonfly was applied with a Foam Adhesive strip.  An 8 1/2 by one inch piece of vellum was stamped with a sentiment from the retired SU set Heard From the Heart and wrapped around the canvas and stapled to the back.

This was also our 3D item last workshop, the ladies chose some lovely colors and masks for their projects, gorgeous enough to make beautiful birthday and wedding gifts.  ( I forgot to take photos, oops!) 

Duoprinting with Chlorophyll

I have not played with this technique in a very long time and thought I would give it another try. I have a beautiful Japanese Maple tree right outside my craft room window. When pressed the lovely red tinge leaves take on a purplish hue. I used a gray watercolor pencil in a few areas to give a shadow to the leaf.  

I stamped the script from SU French Foliage (Retired) in Vintage Photo ink, stamping off once before stamping over the leaf.  Sentiment is from Feathery Friends.

This year I decided to make a clean and simple statement about my patriotism.  I love being an American, I am proud and strong in my conviction.  America is GREAT and has always been GREAT.  My son, my father, and my grandfathers fought for our freedom and this great nation.  We have all suffered losses in keeping our country strong, free and proud, and I will never forget those sacrifices.  I am FREE, I am PROUD, I AM AN AMERICAN.

The Colors of Hope

The colors here represent three different cancers; Orange for Leukemia, Blue for Colon, and Pink for Breast.  I personally have a sister and two dear friends suffering the ravages of cancer treatment.  I have "hope" and pray every day that they will recover and be able to enjoy many years of a beautiful life.  Never give up hope for a cure.
