Hello Fall!

Peggy  Noe of Pretty Paper Cards designed this card in watercolor for Paper Pals, her original version can be found here:

http://prettypapercards.com/2015/08/27/fall-hello-for-the-pals/

For my CASED version of Peggy's design I used the same stamp sets SU Tin of Cards, For All Things, and the beautiful Vintage Leaves with matching die cuts.  I added a little Favorite Findings Owl Button to my seam binding ribbon.

Tea Bag Holder / Thank You Card

Thank you card/tea bag holder.

White card stock cut at 3 1/2" x 10 1/2" scored at 3 1/2" and 7"
cut from score line down to edge of card stock on one end to make the envelope for the tea bag.
Decorate as desired before gluing bottom of inside of the card.
I used Stampin' Up Bordering Blooms stamp set and colored with Watermelon Wonder and Pistachio Pudding markers.  Other papers are scraps.  Vellum leaf die cut with Leaflets die, added glue to the edges and dipped in pink glitter.  Bead pin and seam binding dyed ribbon.  Small Olive Branch die by Memory Box.

Inspired, and CASED, by Michelle Zindorf's "In The Morning" card found here:

http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/1890164?&si=Zindorf

Michelle is the QUEEN OF THE BRAYER technique and I so admire her hand with not only the brayer but a sponge, she is just AWESOME.  Now I am no where near her talent, but I gave it a go for the Splitcoaststampers CC544 Wisteria-Saffron-Coral color challenge.

Art Anthology Under The Sea Treasure Box

This year at the Scrapbook Expo in Santa Clara, California, Stayce DeWitt, Owner/Director of Education at Art Anthology gave this Under Sea Treasure Box class   Stayce is an independent business owner working out of her home and her paints are fabulous.  This class was way outside my comfort zone of neat and clean crafting, but it turned out wonderful and it only took 5 days to get all of the ink out of my cuticles. (I took gloves, why didn't I use them!!!)  It was so much fun playing with the paints and stencils and other materials.

I used the Tim Holtz die cut of the Seahorse given in class, using molding paste to add some depth then painting with orange paint.

I did not have time to complete my tags during class, so I brought them home and finished them with what I have on hand.
The seagulls, starfish and sand dollar were cut out on the Cricut using the "Life Is A Beach" cartridge.  The small seashells on the tag were from my stash, gathered on our local, Shell Beach.

Thank you Stayce for showing me that we can play with paints and the results are awesome.

This card was designed by Andrea Borries and can be found on her blog Snippets here:

http://snippetsbyandrea.blogspot.com/2012/10/masculine-birthday-cards.html

I love this stamp set "In The Wild" (retired) and needed a masculine birthday card for last month's card club, so I searched online and found Andrea's great design.

Papers:  Stampin' Up, Basic Black, Old Olive and Naturals (retired)
Inks:  Staz-On, Old Olive, Real Red and Pumpkin Pie
Stamp Sets:  In The Wild (animals, retired); Button Bear Accessories (balloons, retired); Something To Celebrate (gift box, retired); Morning Meadow (Happy Birthday, also retired); From the Herd (party hat).
Inside of the card I stamped "Party Animal" using the Alphabet Rotary Stamp (retired).

I know, I used so many of our retired stamp sets for this card, but I can't bare to part with all of my favorites.

I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the hats and present and hand drew the balloon lines.

Thanks Andrea!

Awesomely Artistic Dragonfly

This is for Dragonfly Journeys, color inspiration Challenge #17 to use goldenrod, turquoise, and ruby.   Difficult challenge for me as this color combination is outside my comfort zone.

Stamps:     Stampin' Up Awesomely Artistic (Dragonfly), Gorgeous Grunge (flower dot background) which was stamped in VersaMark and heat set with Crushed Curry embossing powder.

Paper:  Stampin' Up, Cherry Cobbler, Whisper White, Tempting Turquoise and a goldenrod from my stash.

Accessories:  Stampin' Up inks in same colors as the papers; flowers were made with circle punches and tiny pearls, hand drawn stems and leaves.  Clouds were made using sponge dauber and scalloped circle punch.  Dotted lace ribbon in Delightful Dijon.  Dragonfly was stamped in Staz-On black then highlighted with the Turquoise marker, a white gelly roll pen and glazed over with Wink of Stella.

Head on over to Jeannie's blog at http://dragonflyjourneys.blogspot.com/
