Outrigger Birthday

I needed a special card for a special friend who is an awesome athlete, celebrating a birthday.  She just returned from a trip to the Cook Islands when she had been outrigging and I thought a card depicting an outrigger would be appropriate.  Now I don't know anything at all about boats, so I had to look up photographs of outriggers.  I sketched a scene onto watercolor paper and painted it with my Sakura Koi Water Colors and gave it some definition with some Stampin' Up watercolor markers, and a kind of dotted sand stamp from the Stampin' Up Waterfront set.  I stamped a birthday greeting from the Stampin' Up Balloon Adventures stamp set, matted it with basic black card stock and mounted it onto the front of a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" heavy card stock base.

Painted Harvest Birthday

I love the month of September, the hot days and warm nights, back to school, and the slight anticipation of fall just around the corner.

I also love the SU Painted Harvest stamp set too, so I decided to make myself, and a few other friends and family birthday cards featuring this lovely set.

Sweet Baby Elephant Birthday

This is for Splitcoaststampers Clean and Simple challenge 443 (CAS443) Sweet Birthday Wishes

Stamped and then masked the little elephant from Inkadinkado Welcome Baby set, then stamped the balloon from Stampin' Up Honecomb Happiness and the little cake from Janie's Girls Frames. The sentiment is from Stampin' Up Party Pants.

Painted with a watercolor brush and SU ink pads in Powder Pink, So Saffron, Real Red and Chocolate Chip. Made the plaid design on the patches of the elephant and lined with a gold pen. I used a silver pen for the elephant's tag.

Thanks for looking....so sorry about shaky watercolor look as I'm having serious eye problems right now, but glad I joined in today to make this cute, sweet little card.

Spring Song Happy Birthday

A Spring Song Happy Birthday easel fold card.  Sentiment is under the fold.   Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel, and Very Vanilla cardstock, unknown dsp, buttons from my stash.  MS lacy edge punch, and Spellbinders scalloped and fancy edge dies.  Buttons from my stash.  The stamp set and caramel cardstock and retired.  

Special Reason Birthday

I made this for my granddaughter who has a birthday coming up next week. I followed the Stephanie Purvis Tutorial over at SCS to make this Mani Pedi Gift Box. I was inspired to make the baby wipe technique designer paper by SU Artisan designer Barbara Meyer and to cover the box by SCS artist, Dina Kowall

Manicure/Pedicure Gift Box

The box is filled with two nail polish, a tin of polish remover pads, and a tin of cuticle cream.

 The tag inside the box is stamped with the SU Love Sparkles stamp set and cut out with SU dies.

Say What?!?! Nacho Birthday Card

I just love this Stamping Bella - Christine Grove Collection stamp, Nacho is so surprised..."Say What?!?!"  This is for my sister who has a milestone birthday this month.  Sometimes it is hard to believe that we are all grown up and living far from one another.  One thing we will always share is our love of little dogs and I think his expression is priceless.

I love this stamp set "In The Wild" (retired) and needed a masculine birthday card for last month's card club, so I searched online and found Andrea's great design.

I used the Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the hats and present and hand drew the balloon lines.

Lipton Tea has changed their packaging to include three 1 3/4" x 5 3/4" x 2 3/8" boxes that hold the teabags encased in gold foil.  I thought the boxes would be the perfect size to hold small items, candy, or other treats so I designed a lid to fit the box base.

Lid measures 3 3/4" x 7 5/8" scored on all four sides at 1"

What a fun set to play with watercolors.  My birthday is stamped a little crooked, but the fun is still there in these happy smiling faces.  The little fishes in the ocean are from Sushi Bowl Party by Stampendous.

Birthday cards using the Close To My Heart set - Windy Day.  Papers used are Stampin' Up as is the Birthday stamp from the Reason To Celebrate retired set.  I colored both cards with Copics.

Close To My Heart Robot Family

Card base is Stampin' Up Summer Starfruit with Tempting Turquoise for the tag.  Robot was colored with Copics and the gears were cut from the Cricut Artiste Cartridge at 3/4".  I stamped the gears onto the base of this 3x5 card and the little boy and girl robots onto the bottom of the envelope.  Glossy Accents was used to glisten the frosting on the cake and the candle light was touched with yellow Stickles.

Trio of cards using the Sycamore Street color combinations.  I love the vibrant colors.  I used the Petite Petal punch and added jewels for bling.

I love making pockets for gift cards (or cash) especially for hard to buy for recipients, everyone enjoys a gift card or some cash, right, so why not make a lovely pocket to hold that gift or for a sweet little note written on the pull out tag.
