Irish Teacup

Saint Patrick's Day Teacup

St. Patrick's Day Teacup

Base is cut out from Cricut "Love You A Latte" cartridge x2, and I made a little box for the center to hold the Wilton tea stained doily, Twinings Irish Breakfast Teabag and two Andes Mints.  The cup forms were run through the Cuttlebug Victoria Embossing Folder to give them that Irish "Belleek" look.

1/8" ribbon was wrapped around the front of the cup as is an antique piece of trim before adhering it to the box.  The tea tag was embossed with the Stampin' Up Needlepoint Border embossing folder then stamped with the Itty Bitties clover and "tea" from the Tea Shoppe stamp set on both sides.  Crochet thread was attached after punching a tiny hole in the tag, taped to the back of the cup before adhering to the box.

By adhering the ribbon and tea tag to the front of the box before gluing it to the box keeps it from shifting and holds them firmly in place.

Three clovers were punched out of Stampin' Up Garden Green and glued to the front of the cup.  Martha Stewart flower punch in Elegant Eggplant and a one of the SU 3 Flowers punch flowers were put together to make the flower with a dot of Liquid Buttercup Pearls for the center.

This is a simple and easy project and I know all of my Irish Clan will love receiving them.

Trinket Box Makeover

Wyanet Book Box Conversion

This is an "Altered Art" Project.  I scored a half dozen of these cute little magnetic closure book boxes at an after Christmas sale for around a $1 each.  Although they are lovely just the way they are, I couldn't resist making one into an extra special trinket box to hold some small items.

The cover design is Wyanet by Sylvia Zet for Wee Stamps-Whimsy Stamps was stamped on Neenah Solar White and colored with Copic markers and highlighted with Stickles and Glossy Accents.  The ovals are Stampin' Up Crumbcake and Bermuda Bay cut out with Spellbinder's Nestabilities dies and sewn together on my sewing machine.  The beads were strung on strong buttonhole thread then the feathers were glued into the bead holes.  The little conch or dreamcatcher metal piece is from Close To My Heart.  The flowers were made using various punches and the leaves are cut from Sizzix die cut Branch w/Leaves.  The sentiments are computer generated.

I removed the inside cover piece and used it as a template for the inside cover which goes over the box to hold it together.  I also removed the box from the cover so that I could lay the piece flat to adhere the cover.  I cut the cover piece from some of my favorite old Cosmo Cricket "Wanted - Kissin Kate" designer paper and glued it to the book front-spine-back with Bookbinding Adhesive.

Once the cover was pasted on, the magnetic closure was not strong enough to hold the box closed so I added ribbon before adhering the inside cover piece and box to the back cover.

This is a before and after picture of the book box.

Sweet Little Donkey Baby Cards

Two more baby cards.  Our first little one was born at 5:45 this morning and one of yesterday's cards will go to welcome her to the world.   We have three more little ones arriving soon so I am on a mission to make baby cards.  Here are two more:

This Sweet Little Donkey was a free digital download by Meljens found here:  http://meljensdesigns.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=64

I colored the donkey and hearts with Copics and added Stickles and Liquid Pearls.

Papers are Stampin' Up Crumb Cake, Bashful Blue (I wish they would bring this color back) and Blushing Bride.  Background designer papers are from my scrap bin.  I made the flowers using punches and an edge punch and the leaves are a die cut by Sizzix.

The round sentiments are also free digital downloads by Netty and can be found here:  http://nettyscards.blogspot.com/p/freebies.html

Miscellaneous ribbon and twine.  On the boy card I ripped up a piece of cardboard and tore off the paper exposing the ribs, and added a little white paint.  The ovals are Spellbinders.

I printed two Sweet Little Donkeys for each card using one as a base and coloring and cutting out the second and adhered with foam dots to give some dimension.

I have had a lot of fun working on these sweet little baby cards and have a few more in the works, hope to get them all done by the time the babies arrive.
