Gesso and Embossing

I tried my hand at using Gesso on a piece of K & Company paper which gives the paper a little tooth to grab the ink.  The flower was stamped onto Vellum in SU More Mustard then embossed with super fine clear embossing powder.  Momento black and was rubbed over the flower and then rubbed off with a paper towel.  I highlighted parts of the flower with LePlume black marker.  I tied thread knots in the center of the flower.

The stamps are from Gina K. Designs "A Year of Flowers".  Card stock is Stampin' Up.

Have Fun Rocking Horse Loli

Have Fun

This card was created using a stamp by Sylvia Zet for SCACD (Susana's Custom Art & Card Design) and this little one is from "The Loli & Poppy Collection" colored with Copic markers.

The papers are by Stampin' Up.  The Have Fun stamp and green jewels are from Michael's $1 bin.  The ribbon is also from Michael's.

ADFD Challenge #41 Add A Feather

ADFD Challenge #41 Add A Feather

This card was made using the little bird provided by Tammy at A Day For Daisies for their Challenge #41 "Add A Feather"  I love birds and the little guy was just begging to be surrounded by beautiful little flower blossoms.  I used circle dies, a Cheery Lyn Designs Fanciful Flourish die and a Punch A Bunch Bellflower punch and colored with Copic markers.  Feathers were added to the little bird.  This was a fun challenge.  Thanks for looking.

Cowgirls Rule

Cowgirls Rule

Set three of the Western Themed cards are two Feminine Birthday Cards.   The pink boot card was posted earlier on my blog in March called "Cowgirl Birthday."  You can see the details for this card on that post.

The second card was made using the SU Out West and Wanted sets.  Stamped on SU Craft card stock.  Melon Mambo was run through the Sizzix Lattice embossing folder then torn and rubbed with Chocolate Chip ink.  Sides of the card stock were distressed and also rubbed with ink.  Sentiment is from Petite Pairs.

the metallion was stamped on craft card stock in Chocolate Chip ink, punched out with circle punch with a hole punched in the center to string the twine through.

Genuine Cowboy

Genuine Cowboy

This is the second set of cards made for my sister from the Stampin'Up sets Bronc Buster and Out West.

I used SU card stock in Craft; Chocolate Chip and Very Vanilla.  Spellbinders Nestabilities Squares, Ovals, Scalloped Squares and Labels 18.

The wood like designer paper is from K & Co. Edamame.  Birthday Sentiment is SU Petite Pairs.  Brad is from Recollections.

For the second card I Stamped the paper with Momento brown ink, sprayed with water and rolled it up into a ball, smoothed it out and let it dry to give it the look and feel of leather.  The two little brads are 1/4" paper hole punch outs covered with glossy accents as is the Metallion holding down the bradded paper.  The two strips were run through the Cuttlebug Tiny Bubbles embossing folder.  The entire card was painted over with Mod-Podge.

Bronc Busters

Bronc Buster

My sister in Montana requested a set of masculine birthday cards for her to send to family and friends.  Using the Stampin' Up Bronc Buster set this is what I came up with.

The designer papers are by Cosmo Cricket and the card stock is Stampin' Up.  Bronc Buster is embossed  with Ranger Super Fine Detail Black.  SU punches used are Modern Label; Curly Label; Circles and Scalloped Circle.

The fence post is a piece of 1/4" by 1 1/2" paper folded in thirds with one section tucked behind the image and on third glued down to the image with the twine strung through the opening.

Metallion (from the Wanted set) and brad are embossed with Recollections Gold.  The blue brads on the second card are 1/4" hole punch outs curved with a McGill embossing tool then glued down and covered with Glossy Accents.

Tea and Cookies Card

Wonderful little gift for Spring or to cheer somebody up.

I used SU papers and "Morning Cup" stamp set. Two Pepperidge Farms Sugar Cookies and Twinings Irish Breakfast Tea bag.

The Teabag and Cookie Holder instruction sheet by Chiaki Haverstick can be found here:

Watercolored Bird

I totally cased this card from Dini's blog found here:http://mamadinis.blogspot.com/

I used regular and pearlized watercolors then stamped the bird from "You Will Fing Refuge" from Our Daily Bread designs with SU Chocolate Chip ink. I then colored in and highlighted the bird with Copic marker.

Since I changed the following, I hope this qualifies for not completely copying Dini's very enchanting card: Back panels are hand made, embossed on MS Score board; Sentiment is computer generated; Leaves die is by Cheery Lyn and pearls are placed on upper part of card. I did not re-stamp the bird, form him and put him over the original.

I admire Dini's beautiful watercolors and maybe with much more practice I will get better.

Thank you Dini for all of your inspiration.

Faux Pressed Flowers

For the Technique Lovers Challenge 371 Faux Pressed Flowers:

Anna Griffin stamp inked with SU Perfect Plum and Old Olive then colored in with Derwent pencils and pressed in the Sizzix Lattice embossing folder.

Added the two extra bees at the top, stamped and cut out, with glitter on the wings.

Papers used are SU Whisper White, Perfect Plum, marina Mist and So Saffron.

Sentiment is computer generated and cut using the SU Modern label punch, 1/8 inch circle punch was used for the "faux" brads topped with Glossy Accents.

Friendship in Blue and White

Friendship Card

As many of you know I am in awe of Kittie747 and her awesome cards. I totally cased this card from one of her latest cards called "Matching Frame and Panel" found here:

My best friend's husband suffered a stroke recently and she has not been able to visit him the last few days because she has come down with a cold. I made this card for her. The inside reads: "Friendship is the only flower that blooms in all seasons." I will be off to sit with her husband and give him our support later this afternoon.

Although my card could not come close to the beautiful masterpiece of Kittie, I think it is still a lovely card.

I used SU papers and their Sprinkles stamp set.

Thank you Kittie for the awesome inspiration.

Embossed Kisses Easter Tag

Embossed Kisses Easter Tag

This tag was made for my ladies monthly luncheon. The felt basket was purchased at Target for $1 and holds all of the paper carrot candy holders.

I used misc. paper scraps. The Bird stamp is from CTMH "Bird Basics" and the greeting is from Crafty Secrets Clear Art Stamps "Easter Joy"

Sentiment is stamped on SU Sizzix little tags die.

The kissing technique was done with Cuttlebug D'vine Swirls and Ranger Peeled Paint green ink, bird is Worn Lipstick pink.

Leaves are a Cheery Lyn die.

ADFD Challenge #40 Found Paper

This little fairy digital is from Tammy at a Day For Daisies
I printed her on some silk paper that I found on the top shelf of my closet, placed there after my husband returned from a trip to China.  I colored the silk with Copic markers and glittered her wings.
The papers used are from Stampin' Up and K&Co.
Dies used are from Martha Stewart and Cheery Lyn.  Spring Blossoms is backed with flowers from the Stampin' Up Boho punch.  Flowers are hand made using the Boho punch for the two larger flowers and the smaller flowers are 1/8 and 1/4 inch circles.
